📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction to one or more departments • Establish operating policies and procedures affecting departments and subordinate work units • Develop budgets, schedules, department objectives, and metrics • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and senior-level business partners • Lead briefings and technical meetings supporting IT objectives • Review technical solution designs and architectures and provide guidance • Participate in system design and architecture discussions • Review technical solutions and support execution • Ensure code reviews are completed and promote software development best practices • Anticipate technology trends and assess the impact of emerging technologies • Support agile practices, learning events, and trainings • Help remove team barriers and engage in sprint demos • Partner with Product Managers on initiatives, features, and epics • Collaborate on product-group strategies, operating plans, targets, and measures • Foster a psychologically safe, collaborative team environment • Broker solutions across products and teams and ensure consistency of approach • Align the team with company and technology-organization priorities • Participate in product and platform technology vision, strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and alignments • Represent the business value of technology upgrades and influence roadmap prioritization • Guide technology and platform selection • Promote engineering practices, observability, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement • Contribute to enterprise frameworks and patterns • Define and support software development lifecycle processes • Support production incident resolution and serve as an escalation point • Manage technology solutions, platforms, and vendor relationships • Conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings • Provide feedback, coaching, and career planning for engineers • Lead consulting-partner selection and support recruitment planning • Recruit, develop, and sustain a high-performing team • Manage direct and indirect staff

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience • 8+ years of progressively responsible positions in Information Technology, including 5+ years’ experience in an IT discipline • 3+ years of leadership experience in all aspects of a specific IT discipline • 3+ years’ management/supervisory experience in a specific IT functional area discipline, or equivalent skills leading major technical projects with accountability for talent management needs and performance standards • Demonstrated leadership and experience managing multidiscipline, high-performance work teams • Strong competency in project management and execution of multiple or large projects • Experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems • Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders to support business initiatives • Ability to function in an environment requiring flexibility, good judgment, and intelligent decision making • Ability to formulate, implement, and evaluate plans, programs, and procedures applicable to customer relationship and demand management • Preferred: MBA • Preferred: Financial Services industry experience • Preferred: Experience in IT planning and business relationship management • Preferred: Experience working in a matrix management organization • Preferred: Experience with product development and management
