📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain engaging and effective learning programs • Lead end-to-end instructional design for complex, high-impact learning programs from needs analysis through evaluation • Balance scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs across multiple initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery commitments • Design learning ecosystems using social, experiential, and digital reinforcement aligned with the 70/20/10 model • Apply Action Mapping and performance consulting techniques to drive measurable behavior change • Partner with subject matter experts, project managers, frontline leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders • Translate business goals into effective learning strategies and identify performance gaps • Develop assessments and evaluation plans • Analyze outcomes across Kirkpatrick Levels 1–3 and connect insights to business performance • Contribute to content governance, peer review, and instructional design standards • Maintain and evolve learning programs based on product updates, process changes, and business priorities • Use Claude/OpenAI and other AI tools to design, develop, and iterate asynchronous learning content • Create basic multimedia assets including screen recordings, short-form video, and AI-assisted voiceover content • Support Thumbtack’s Field Enablement team in improving frontline team proficiency and the experience delivered to professionals and customers

🎯 Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or performance consulting • Experience preferably in a high-growth tech or call center environment • Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex learning programs and varied instructional modalities • Expertise in instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM • Knowledge of adult learning theory • Working knowledge of Action Mapping or performance consulting approaches • Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude/OpenAI to build asynchronous learning content • Builder-level fluency with AI in a design workflow • Strong project management and stakeholder partnership skills • Ability to independently own projects from needs analysis through evaluation • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Operations • Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to diverse audiences • Learner-first mindset and commitment to continuous improvement, experimentation, and high-quality design standards • Ability to work from an eligible supported location in the United States, Ontario, Canada, or the Philippines • Must answer whether employment visa sponsorship will be required
