📋 Description

• Lead design projects for Tidepool’s Automated Insulin Dosing (AID) System and Tidepool Loop • Design hardware/software flows including first-time pump/CGM setup, pump/CGM replacement, and pump/CGM error states • Lead design projects for Tidepool’s Data Management Platform across patient and clinician experiences • Design device integrations, patient management dashboards, data visualizations, device connection workflows, and related experiences • Translate patient needs into meaningful designs while balancing usability, safety regulations, and technical considerations • Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, and Quality teams to meet risk and quality standards • Communicate data-informed design vision and rationale to stakeholders and team members • Partner with product, engineering, and quality assurance teams to drive design decisions and advocate for users • Solve product design challenges across iOS and Android experiences • Support human factors activities, formative usability studies, and summative validation preparation • Develop empathy and understanding for people with diabetes and healthcare providers and use feedback to improve products • Collaborate with product managers on feature discovery, enhancement, definition, strategy, and prioritization • Proactively manage prioritization challenges to align design focus areas with business goals • Take on responsibilities beyond traditional design, including product management • Develop expertise in diabetes hardware and software technologies

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a product designer, interaction designer, or equivalent visual/experience design experience • Strong portfolio demonstrating a design process solving problems for mobile and responsive web platforms • Portfolio submission required, including any necessary passwords • Experience designing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) for Android and iOS products • Experience designing software solutions that interact directly with physical hardware • Strong visual design fundamentals, including layout, color, and typography • Ability to create high-level strategic designs and handle detailed design tasks • Ability to work independently from concept through completion while seeking feedback • Experience using Jira for design reviews and providing design feedback to engineers • Experience leveraging AI prototyping tools with a human-in-the-loop approach • Experience working with product teams in highly technical domains involving complex data and hardware constraints • Empathy for chronic conditions and willingness to learn about the diabetes experience
