📋 Description

• Serve as fractional CFO and trusted leadership-team member for a portfolio of venture-backed clients • Partner with CEOs and boards to establish and execute 12–24-month strategic plans • Own annual operating plans, budgeting, financial forecasts, and FP&A reporting • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual board-material preparation and presentations • Lead fundraising strategy and execution across equity and debt financings • Develop relationships with investors, lenders, and service providers • Build finance and accounting infrastructure, systems, controls, and scalable processes • Partner on capacity planning, headcount, quotas, commissions, and incentive compensation • Direct Topo analysts, finance managers, and accounting team members • Manage, coach, and develop team members and oversee performance and growth • Manage staff capacity and portfolio engagement execution • Oversee monthly close, cash management, and accounting operations • Drive internal strategic initiatives strengthening Topo’s service model and processes • Answer complex strategic finance questions and support colleagues across the firm • Contribute to business development and brand-building efforts • Serve as an internal and external thought leader on strategic finance best practices

🎯 Requirements

• 13+ years of accounting and finance experience, including senior finance leadership as a CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent • CPA and/or MBA preferred • Significant experience with venture-backed organizations • Experience in a client service or advisory environment strongly preferred • Demonstrated track record leading equity and debt financings and working directly with investors, lenders, and boards • Proven experience managing and developing finance and accounting teams • Experience implementing accounting and reporting systems, controls, and scalable processes • Strategic leadership focused on 12–24-month planning and actionable finance strategy • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, concise guidance • Ability to lead effectively in ambiguous and frequently changing situations • Collaborative, hands-on, entrepreneurial approach • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
