📋 Description

• Lead life underwriting transformation initiatives supporting modernization, automation, and operational excellence • Partner with technical teams to align solutions with life underwriting objectives and operational needs • Facilitate project planning, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and stabilization • Represent life underwriting on cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Distribution, Technology, Product, and vendors • Develop and deliver training, knowledge transfer, and communication plans • Coordinate business readiness and implementation support • Support release planning, production validation, and post-implementation monitoring • Drive issue resolution and escalation management • Evaluate new data sources, rules, and underwriting tools • Assist with project timelines, priorities, and stakeholder communication • Serve as liaison among New Business, Life Underwriting, Training & Development, Project Management, Technology, QA, Sales & Marketing, and vendors • Coach and mentor team members while providing project leadership without direct people management • Keep abreast of relevant events in the insurance sector

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience • Six years of life or health underwriting experience • Three years of underwriting experience within Transamerica or three years of high level experience working on an enhanced underwriting project • Understanding of the enhanced underwriting user interface • In-depth knowledge of industry products • Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with multiple business groups • Decision-making and problem-solving skills • Time-management skills to work on multiple priorities simultaneously • Willingness to continue education to stay current in the insurance sector • Proficiency in MS Office • Experience working with life underwriting workbench platforms, rules engines, and automated decisioning systems • Experience supporting vendor integrations and underwriting data sources • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and accountability • Completion of FALU courses or LOMA courses • FLMI designation or related coursework
