📋 Description

• Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with engineering on production infrastructure and code security • Assess security gaps, prioritize them, and implement the highest-leverage improvements • Establish and lead incident response so breaches are contained and response procedures are clear • Drive security as a cultural shift across the company by introducing controls incrementally • Lead Tremendous’ AI-security posture by managing risk while enabling AI tooling • Define when and how to staff the security function • Hire and build the security team • Report to the VP of Engineering and work closely with engineering

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on security experience at a company that scaled, ideally as an early security hire during high growth • Deep experience in at least one core security domain: product/production security, security operations, or access/identity and policy • Broad enough security knowledge to reason across other domains • Experience defining security posture rather than only executing an existing playbook • Engineer’s mindset with ability to use code to solve problems • Ability to read and understand a codebase and infrastructure, including Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud • Strong judgment in assessing actual risk and applying security practices to business needs • Ability to lead organizational change and gain team adoption • Experience building or co-building a small security team is a plus • Fintech, payments, or regulated-industry experience is a plus
