📋 Description

• Perform day-to-day customer service activities within hospital revenue operations for an assigned Patient Business Services location • Handle self-pay and insurance billing and collection inquiries, requests, and related revenue-cycle functions • Assist patients with billing issues, including setting up payment plans and responding to complaints and inquiries • Document customer complaints, issues, interactions, actions taken, and results in appropriate systems • Track customer-service encounter trends and recommend resolutions to the supervisor • Independently resolve or escalate customer complaints and issues to the Supervisor Customer Service • Perform, track, trend, and report customer-service communication and follow-up processes to key stakeholders • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, Trinity Health compliance requirements, and policies

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, plus successful completion of the Trinity Health Trainee program and achievement of program productivity and quality standards; or at least one year of relevant experience and knowledge • Relevant revenue-cycle experience in a hospital or clinic, health insurance company, managed care organization, or other healthcare financial-services setting; experience may include medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting, or customer service • Previous service/call center experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational, interpersonal, accuracy, attention-to-detail, and time-management skills • Ability to interpret customer requirements and recommend appropriate actions • Ability to work independently and operate a keyboard and telephone effectively • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications and skills-validation competencies preferred • Ability to work in a collaborative, shared-leadership environment • Ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures • Ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, adapt to interruptions, organize work priorities, and work in a potentially stressful environment
