• Lead, guide, and direct functional responsibilities and enterprise-wide functional strategy • Advise RHM, Region, service area, and functional area leaders on strategies and performance goals • Enable collaboration across service areas, RHMs, and Regions • Lead standardization, systemness, optimization, policy, process, and methodology initiatives • Oversee vendor and contract labor management, centralizing strategy and optimizing spend • Collaborate on system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional priorities • Support regional compliance with functional area priorities • Select, evaluate, and oversee functional leadership teams • Establish functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing • Measure and report KPIs, metrics, and value delivery • Lead complex strategic sourcing initiatives and competitive sourcing processes • Conduct high-value contract negotiations and manage project risks • Lead cross-functional teams across Trinity Health and Regional Health Ministries • Develop and implement strategic commodity plans • Maintain supplier and group purchasing organization (GPO) relationships • Negotiate supplier terms, work with legal on contracts, monitor supplier performance, and conduct business reviews • Drive system contract compliance and optimize national, custom, and Trinity Health purchasing agreements • Analyze supply markets, spend, demand forecasts, supplier risks, and total cost of ownership • Support annual business planning and budget guidance • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools • Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide actionable recommendations • Lead enterprise spend management across assigned categories • Manage RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, including analysis and negotiations • Develop and communicate sourcing strategies with senior management and key stakeholders • Direct personnel and financial activities of assigned functional areas • Set sourcing team priorities and goals • Conduct annual reviews, manage performance issues, and support colleague career development • Hire, orient, manage, promote, discipline, and terminate direct reports • Represent the Strategic Sourcing Director as required • Promote lean/process excellence and lead productivity initiatives • Engage suppliers legally, ethically, and according to Trinity Health policies • Plan, manage, and oversee complex medium and large sourcing projects • Review, redline, and draft contract language with legal counsel • Ensure adoption of strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle management systems • Partner with Finance to validate forecasted savings • Ensure effective contract handoff and implementation • Track supplier performance against scorecards and resolve service issues • Establish comprehensive sourcing procedures for assigned products and services • Perform other duties as required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, supply chain management, portfolio specific clinical discipline or a related field, and seven (7+) years of progressively responsible experience in a multi-entity and multi-level organization, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience • Leadership experience • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic sourcing and contract portfolios • Demonstrated ability to provide complex financial analysis • Advanced data analytics and procurement practices • Intermediate to advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications • Vendor relationships and market analysis for trends • Ability to develop work plans and lead sourcing professionals • Ability to translate category insights into sourcing strategies and measurable business outcomes • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Operations and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques • Project management skills from initialization through completion • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and communication skills • Ability to engage physicians, executives, and all organizational levels to influence and drive results • Ability to address conflict and challenge conventional thinking • Strategic thinking and cost analysis skills with understanding of financial management concepts • Ability to identify issues and formulate viable solutions • Ability to execute complex analyses including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Economic Value to Customer (EVC), and Net Present Value (NPV) • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills • Knowledge of supplier bases and relevant market trends • Knowledge of contract law and governing regulations • Ability to work collaboratively with internal legal counsel • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex findings clearly • Master’s degree in related field preferred • Healthcare industry experience preferred
