📋 Description

• Own modeling of R&D spend, including cloud infrastructure, AI and compute costs, and engineering headcount • Keep R&D spend scaling efficiently against revenue by building cloud infrastructure and AI/compute cost models • Use BigQuery and AI-assisted analysis to convert billing data into actionable variance readouts after month-end • Build headcount-capacity scenario models in Pigment and TRM’s Claude-powered scenario engine for CTO and engineering leaders • Extend board-deck automation to refresh executive and board materials from governed named ranges • Partner with the Head of AI to optimize AI and infrastructure spending and identify build-vs-buy and efficiency opportunities • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and reporting cycles end-to-end • Produce the one-page Monthly Business Review for leadership and board materials • Partner with the CTO, engineering and infrastructure leaders, Recruiting, and Accounting as the finance point of contact for R&D • Participate in weekly Strategic Finance and VP of Finance syncs • Collaborate asynchronously in Slack and communicate planning status and decisions in writing

🎯 Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience across investment banking, investing, consulting, or finance at a high-growth technology company • Track record of owning monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and reporting cycles end-to-end with limited guidance • Hands-on fluency using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in finance modeling and analysis • Ability to evaluate when to trust AI-generated output and when to override it • Expert-level Excel and Google Sheets modeling skills • Experience building scalable, AI-assisted or agentic engines, such as in Pigment, for repeatable reporting • Experience supporting technical or product organizations such as Engineering, Product, Data Science, or Infrastructure is strongly preferred • Experience partnering with technical organizations on cloud and compute costs is strongly preferred • Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving • AI fluency is a baseline expectation and applied AI fluency is evaluated during interviews
