📋 Description

• Act as the key day-to-day client interface and deliver value-added cost management services • Support large-scale capital construction and development programs managed from the Houston area • Negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle • Produce and present final cost plans • Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor with data accuracy • Gather status information and prepare cost report and latest estimate updates • Prepare written comments on general contractor submissions, including executive summaries • Coordinate cost information from NPA, subcontractors, architects/engineers, and quantities sources • Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact • Resolve scheduling issues proactively with minimal supervision • Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects • Participate in post-contract cost variance and change control processes • Manage cost impact, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions • Develop and update cost plans and estimates through design milestones • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client-side negotiations • Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle • Manage cost auditing, valuation, and cost validation processes • Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation • Negotiate and agree final accounts • Compile built cost estimate records for benchmarking • Identify, coach, and mentor talent • Provide leadership and service delivery on commissions • Track margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal software • Implement internal business management systems, delivery methodologies, and tools • Promote a one-business culture and balance the needs of people, clients, stakeholders, and society • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in cost management, cost engineering, estimating, or project controls supporting major capital construction projects • Experience leading cost management on medium or large-sized construction projects of medium to high complexity • Experience supporting large-scale industrial, manufacturing, commercial, energy, transportation, or infrastructure construction programs • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of estimating, cost forecasting, change management, earned value management, and project controls principles • Experience preparing and reviewing cost reports, budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and project cash flows • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering • Extensive experience working in SAP • Knowledge and experience utilizing Ecosys • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field • RICS accredited or working towards it preferred • Excellent communication skills
