📋 Description

• Drive a massive, multi-phase data center construction program in the Greater Austin area • Serve as a key day-to-day stakeholder interface • Manage costs, commercial oversight, and financial controls throughout the project lifecycle • Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout construction • Produce and present cost plans and estimates • Review cost estimates developed with design teams and contractors • Reconcile changes and verify contractor data accuracy • Gather status information and prepare cost estimate updates • Prepare written comments and executive summaries on contractor submissions • Coordinate cost information from contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, A/Es, and project stakeholders • Inform engineering priorities based on cost impact • Manage cost checks, valuations, cost impact assessments, contingency, and commitment tracking • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client-side negotiations • Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management • Manage cost auditing, valuation, and cost validation processes • Produce monthly cost reports for the client • Negotiate and agree final accounts in a timely manner • Compile built cost estimate records and benchmark data • Coach and mentor talent • Manage commission margin levels, fee/resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal software • Implement internal business management systems, delivery methodologies, and tools • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a construction-related field • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry • RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation preferred • Experience leading cost management activities on medium- to large-scale, moderately to highly complex construction projects • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, campus, mission-critical, manufacturing, or similarly complex construction projects preferred • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management, and value engineering • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Experience working in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders and concurrent construction activities preferred • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to operate in a client-facing environment • Local to the Greater Austin area and able to travel occasionally to the project site
