📋 Description

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle • Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans • Review and participate in the development of cost estimates for large-scale construction projects • Reconcile changes and assist contractors with data accuracy • Communicate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to gather status information and prepare cost estimate updates • Prepare written comments to contractor submissions, including executive summaries • Coordinate cost information from contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, A/Es, and project stakeholders • Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact • Resolve scheduling issues proactively with minimal supervision • Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects • Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes • Manage cost impact assessments, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions • Develop and update cost plans and estimates through the design phase • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client-side negotiations • Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle • Ensure cost auditing, valuation, and cost validation processes are effective • Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation • Negotiate and agree final accounts in a timely manner • Compile built cost estimate records and benchmark data • Identify, coach, and mentor talent • Provide leadership and service delivery on commissions • Track margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal software • Implement internal business management systems, delivery methodologies, and tools • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a construction-related field • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in a construction-industry cost management role • Experience leading cost management activities on medium- to large-scale, moderately to highly complex construction projects • Good knowledge of construction-industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills • Ability to work in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders and concurrent construction activities • Comfortable operating in a client-facing environment • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation preferred • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, campus, mission-critical, manufacturing, or similarly complex construction projects preferred
