📋 Description

• Build extraction pipelines that turn raw conversation data into structured customer memory • Tune LLM prompts and schemas determining what an AI agent remembers and forgets • Own retrieval paths using embeddings, vector search, and ranking • Contribute to evaluation systems, benchmarks, quality metrics, and regression gates • Diagnose production issues across ingestion, extraction, and indexing using logs, metrics, and traces • Partner with Product and ML teams to translate customer problems into system changes and evaluation criteria • Occasionally travel for project or team in-person meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building backend services • Demonstrated ability to pick up new languages, frameworks, and tools as needed • Ability to investigate how systems behave in production • Desire to continuously learn how to operate systems with rigor and accountability • Experience building or working with evaluation/quality-measurement systems, such as regression detection or quality metrics, or desire to learn • Solid grounding in observability practices, including structured logging and metrics • Experience using observability data to debug distributed systems in production • Fluency with AI-assisted development tools for code generation, review, and debugging • Desired: Experience with Go and/or Python • Desired: Experience with event-streaming systems such as Kafka • Desired: Experience building LLM-backed products • Desired: Practical experience applying ML, including building, evaluating, or productionizing models • Role is remote in the US and is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, or surrounding areas
