Burns School of Medicine that delivers outpatient and school-based clinical services across Hawaiʻi. UCERA operates outpatient clinics, school-based health programs (Hawaii Keiki), specialty services including hyperbaric wound care, speech and hearing, mental health, and pharmacy services, supports clinical education, research, and community outreach, and offers telemedicine and public health initiatives.

📋 Description

• Provide comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance use and addiction • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients • Develop individualized treatment plans • Prescribe medications • Offer counseling and therapy • Work as an on-call APRN Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM • Provide remote healthcare services focused on addiction medicine and substance use disorder

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must reside in Hawaii • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on substance abuse or psychiatric-mental health nursing • Current, unencumbered APRN-Rx license in the state of Hawaii • Clinical experience in addiction medicine or psychiatric-mental health nursing • Strong knowledge of addiction medicine, including pharmacology, withdrawal management, and evidence-based treatment modalities • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals • Ability to connect with and support individuals struggling with addiction • Ability to assess complex situations, develop appropriate treatment plans, and adapt to changing patient needs • Current Board Certification as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse — Advanced Practice (CARN-AP), or other nationally recognized board certification center is preferred • Preferred certification may be obtained by the start date if selected
