• Manage observation, monitoring, and documentation of field work performed by construction and contracting crews • Coordinate and occasionally oversee daily work tasks for a diverse team of Field Observers • Report to an Ulteig Supervisor of Construction Management and the Senior Project Manager of assigned projects • Inspect and document utility, large-scale wind and solar energy, and other energy-related construction projects according to owner requirements and contract documents • Assist in on-site resolution of construction-related issues • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams • Assist project staff in their duties • Track and report project and construction progress and status • Work closely with owners, project management teams, contractor management teams, owners’ engineers, and utilities • Perform and document regular job safety walks • Ensure adherence to client Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs and safety policies • Report, track, and resolve non-conformance issues with QA/QC • Review and adhere to the environmental management plan
• A post-secondary degree in Engineering or Construction Management OR a minimum of 4 years of comparable field experience • 5 years of related experience preferred • Experience working with utility and/or renewable energy projects, preferably utility-scale projects • Substation and electrical collection installation, or civil, road, and concrete experience preferred • Ability to work independently • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals • Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts • Ability to read and understand project schedules and Gantt charts • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Procore • Familiarity with GIS database systems and applications • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with owners’ representatives, contractors, vendors, and others • Ability to work approximately 100% in the field, nights, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S. • Relevant military experience is considered
