• Create, modify, and review existing SLD & 3LD, schematics, and wiring diagrams as it relates to the meters. • Estimate and/or review labor and equipment for project budget preparation purposes. • Provide guidance to less experienced team members. • Prepare and/or review specifications for purchases of materials or equipment. • Program revenue and check meters to account for complex system losses and read revenue and real-time data. • Install, test, troubleshoot, and certify revenue and check meters and various electronic data recorders. • Develop, maintain, and review company metering standards, trainings, procedures, and safety practices. This includes creating standard meter programs to accurately read revenue and real-time data. • Verify the wiring and meter accuracy of commercial and utility-scale revenue metering installations and assist others with wiring verification. • Investigate the causes of commercial and utility-scale metering problems, make repairs, advise customers on possible solutions, and assist others with meter troubleshooting. • Conduct and provide guidance to less experienced team members on Factory Acceptance Testing of communication parameters and revenue data output of meters. • Train and mentor engineers and technicians on all aspects of the installation and maintenance of the various types of meter applications in the field using a portable test kit. • Design and review metering panels. • Expert in standard discipline-specific software and provide training to others. • Inspects new and existing meter panels to verify adherence to client requirements, applicable codes, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ). • Establish and maintain schedules and provide timely progress reports. • Frequently works independently in the field while coordinating with the client. • Works safely in a professional and responsible manner and inspects and maintains safety compliance of field equipment.
• Two-year technical degree with an engineering background or bachelor’s degree in engineering. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in revenue metering. • Possession of a Metering Inspector certification/badge is preferred; examples include: ERCOT EPS Meter Inspector certification CAISO Authorized Inspector. • Expert in metering design concepts. • Ability to review and own multiple projects simultaneously and support other projects as needed while meeting deadlines by setting priorities and delegating work to others. • Proven excellent communication, time management, attention to detail, interpersonal and organizational skills within a team in the office, meter shop, or in the field. • Takes ownership of the quality of work. • Proven ability to coach and mentor multiple individuals. • Acts with integrity and pursues excellence in work. • Proven ability to read, trace, modify, and create engineering design drawings, including SLD, 3LD, logic diagrams, and DC schematics as they relate to the meters. • Experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialization. • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards. • Ability to travel nationwide to project sites, with a focus on Texas and/or California. Minimum 50% travel. • Must have permanent authorization to work in US.
