📋 Description

• Teach academic, technical, and business writing remotely throughout the full academic calendar year • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed • Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning through problem- and project-based learning demonstrations • Provide rich, regular constructive feedback and use rubrics effectively to assess student work • Acknowledge student accomplishments • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise • Help students connect concepts across their academic program • Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in English or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning • Professional experience in English or a related field • Successful completion of UMGC’s online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 122, as a condition of hire • Resume/Curriculum Vitae • Cover letter highly preferred • Candidates with international degrees may be required to submit a translation/degree evaluation from a NACES approved vendor • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred • Terminal degree in English or a related field is preferred
