📋 Description

• Execute statistical and mathematical analyses to support business decision-making • Support AI/ML in a deployed production environment • Work with cross-functional teams to identify business problems suitable for machine learning • Present data science solutions to stakeholders iteratively • Work with Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists on data exploration, data cleansing, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and baseline models • Manage multiple data science model development projects independently • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product management • Own model development from inception through implementation, including ML pipelines, documentation, model drift, and remodeling strategy • Mentor Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists • Coordinate with the ML team on deployment issues, resource requirements, model deployment, and retraining • Take or delegate ownership of critical stakeholder tickets and issues • Navigate, troubleshoot, debug, and improve extensive codebases • Contribute to coding standards and enforce sound coding practices • Create and maintain documentation for ML models, data sources, and methodologies • Assist with feasibility documents • Participate in R&D and implement process improvements or new methodologies • Present knowledge in internal team sessions and workshops • Guide Scrum, Kanban, and other development methodologies in group projects

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, or similar field and 3+ years of experience, OR bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in data science • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Expert-level understanding of classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, association rule learning, bagging, boosting, neural networks and deep learning, model evaluation and metrics, cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, optimization algorithms, NLP, and related topics • Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies with 1–2 years of experience • Intellectual curiosity regarding latest developments such as LLM/generative AI models • Ability to anticipate deployment limitations, data latency, algorithm appropriateness, and mathematical assumptions • At least 1+ year working with a major cloud platform and creating ML models from data exploration through deployment • Working knowledge of large datasets in a cloud environment • Working knowledge of APIs and CI/CD • Understanding of DevOps and MLOps principles • 1+ year writing production-grade code in Bash, Python, and SQL • Ability to identify code improvements, select optimal data structures, optimize code, and create custom code • Proven independent ability to navigate a data lake environment while creating training datasets or feature stores • Effective skills creating, deploying, and troubleshooting ML containers • 1+ year of experience with version control systems such as Git • Ability to investigate and research ML frameworks, algorithms, datasets, and feature stores • Capability to provide macro-level thought leadership to junior team members
