📋 Description

• Elaborate and implement Group and Business Unit cascading strategies with organizational leaders • Identify key growth initiatives and strategic issues and collect bottom-up input for Group strategy iteration • Assist the Board and CEO with Group strategy definition and negotiation of key agreements • Translate growth initiatives and strategic issues into budget inputs in collaboration with Finance • Continuously shape strategy based on operational developments and stakeholder interactions • Frame consequential organizational decisions and clarify decision hierarchy, ownership, values, and objectives • Structure complex decisions using influence diagrams, decision hierarchies, and strategy tables • Develop creative alternatives, including hybrid strategies, while preserving execution optionality • Lead quantitative evaluation using stochastic analysis, probabilistic financial modelling, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, tornado and sensitivity analysis, and real options valuation • Elicit calibrated probability assessments, counter cognitive and motivational biases, and quantify uncertainty • Apply value-of-information and value-of-control analysis to direct studies, pilots, and de-risking spend • Make value trade-offs explicit and embed risk-based analysis into strategy, budgeting, capital planning, project analysis, and M&A analysis • Design and facilitate dialogue between decision-makers and project or analysis teams • Support decision review boards and stage-gate governance for major capital projects • Provide independent Decision Quality assessments of decisions prepared elsewhere • Assist leaders with structuring, analyzing, and presenting difficult decisions, including negotiation support • Contribute decision-analysis input to M&A screening, evaluation, and post-merger integration planning • Train executives and analysts in Decision Quality concepts • Establish standards, templates, and common language for framing, analyzing, and documenting decisions and risks • Embed proportionate Decision Quality standards in planning and budgeting cycles with Finance • Build and lead a small decision-support team over time • Manage external decision analysis and consulting support as needed

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in decision analysis / decision science, or in strategy consulting with a demonstrable decision analysis practice • Ideally including experience in natural resources, energy, or capital-intensive industries • Deep practical command of decision framing and structuring, probability elicitation and debiasing, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and influence diagrams, real options, value of information, multi-objective trade-off analysis, financial modelling and valuation • Proven experience facilitating executive-level decision and strategy processes • Comfortable leading workshops with BU, OU, and function leaders and challenging senior leaders on frame and logic while remaining neutral on content • Strong communication skills, including translating probabilistic and abstract concepts into clear insight for Boards and operational leaders • Track record of building decision competency in organizations • Affiliation with the Society of Decision Professionals or equivalent valued • SDP certification is a plus • English fluency required • Portuguese and/or French is an advantage • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
