📋 Description

• Pitch and produce original, authoritative features across the Android universe • Write deep dives, hands-on experiments, timely takes, reported features, how-tos, and analysis • Deliver a minimum set of published stories per month • Submit strong pitches weekly • Pitch and file same-day or next-day pieces on breaking news, OS drops, or viral trends • Produce 100% editorial content without commerce, affiliate, or sponsored content • Power Android Police’s website, social channels, and newsletters • Cover Android phones, tablets, apps, smart home devices, Amazon Fire products, E Ink hardware, Android OS updates, and productivity apps • Collaborate with professional copy editors and work within the publication’s fact-checking and quality processes

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years writing features for established tech/consumer outlets • Prior bylines required • Deep knowledge of at least one covered beat; bonus for multiple • Current Android devices (Android 14+) and any smart home/E Ink gear covered • US or Canada-based preferred; exceptional writers elsewhere considered if they can reliably work within an Eastern time zone • Passion for the beat and drive to deliver fresh, original takes • Three relevant previously written articles, including at least one hands-on piece • Brief note on primary beat and hardware setup • Fresh pitch idea tailored to Android Police • Links to social profiles or portfolio • Solid media contacts, relevant bylines, strong social-media presence, and familiarity with Android Police’s voice and audience are big pluses
