• Serve as the scientific and clinical expert for Vericel's Orthopedic portfolio within the assigned geography • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, investigators, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals • Deliver balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange and education • Represent Vericel at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and medical forums • Provide non-promotional scientific support for commercialized and investigational orthopedic products • Educate healthcare professionals through presentations, customer visits, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and educational programs • Support Medical Affairs planning with scientific insights and recommendations • Collaborate with Clinical Development and Research teams on clinical trials and post-market studies • Provide guidance regarding Investigator Sponsored Studies through established internal processes • Identify opportunities to strengthen clinical evidence supporting the Orthopedic franchise • Communicate scientific, clinical, competitive, and healthcare system insights from the field • Translate external insights into recommendations supporting Medical Affairs strategy, clinical development, publications, and commercial planning • Contribute scientific expertise to cross-functional initiatives • Share best practices and participate in internal scientific education, journal clubs, training programs, and Medical Affairs initiatives • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests using approved scientific resources • Maintain accurate documentation of field medical activities and customer interactions • Complete required compliance, scientific, and operational training
• Advanced scientific or clinical degree: MS, MSN, DPT, PA, NP, PharmD, PhD, or MD • Minimum 5 years of Medical Science Liaison or equivalent Medical Affairs experience • Experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, regenerative medicine, or related therapeutic areas • Demonstrated expertise in orthopedics, cartilage restoration, sports medicine, regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal therapeutics, cell therapy, or related specialties • Strong scientific and clinical knowledge • Ability to communicate complex data effectively to healthcare professionals • Excellent presentation, relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills • Ability to build trusted relationships with KOLs and academic institutions • Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams • Must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport • Experience supporting regenerative medicine or cell therapy products • Experience participating in advisory boards, investigator meetings, or publication planning • Previous mentoring or leadership experience within a field medical organization • Experience supporting clinical research and evidence-generation initiatives • Ability to travel up to 70% throughout the Northeast
