📋 Description

• Provide an expertise in network-based technologies primarily focused on wireless connectivity, supporting High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) in hospitality, campus housing, and enterprise environments • Act as a mentor and leader to engineering and operations teams • Serve as an escalation contact for technical engineering teams • Perform design work that incorporates industry best practices for managed networks • Function as a technical lead for projects requiring network technologies • Ensure that security improvements are successfully implemented and monitored • Coordinate proper installation, configuration, and testing of network components • Assist in developing and maintaining hardware life cycle management methodologies • Create and maintain documentation to support the implementation and management of network technologies • Contribute to Velocity’s technology roadmap development • Collaborate with architecture function to ensure that designs are in line with the needs of the current and future requirements from our customers, network platforms, and security compliance • Engage and manage external vendors as appropriate to enhance the team’s capabilities • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems • Demonstrated knowledge working with networking protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, TCP/IP, and MPLS) • Demonstrated knowledge working with wireless network standards, protocols, and technologies (e.g., 802.11, OFDMA, and wireless network survey tools such as Ekahau) • Required — Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent technical experience • Required — Experience with at least two of the following products and platforms: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Adtran, Ruckus, Aruba, Arista, Palo Alto, and Fortinet • Preferred — Experience in hospitality or service provider networks • Preferred — Industry relevant certifications — e.g., Cisco CCNP, Ruckus RCWA, Aruba ACMP, etc.
