• Coordinate federal grants, particularly SAMHSA awards supporting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline • Oversee pre-award planning, organization, budget preparation, post-award administration, reporting, procurement, and grant closeout • Ensure compliance with SAMHSA requirements, organizational policies, 2 CFR Part 200, 2 CFR Part 300, award terms, and other applicable federal regulations • Oversee 988 fiscal and grant-related business operations across Finance, Operations, Program, and Grants Management teams • Review, approve, and process invoices for federal grants, contracts, and vendor payments • Oversee procurement and contract activities tied to federal grant funding • Coordinate and submit performance, progress, and financial reports to SAMHSA • Align grant strategy, manage budgets, and ensure cross-departmental compliance • Review and approve financial reconciliations and reclassification requests • Maintain audit readiness by strengthening systems, controls, records, and documentation • Serve as primary liaison to SAMHSA’s Grants Management Specialist and 988 Government Project Officer • Meet weekly with the AVP, 988 Strategy and Grants Management, to provide updates and identify risks • Translate Lifeline/988 policy goals and award requirements into actionable initiatives • Supervise and develop the Grants Manager and direct reports through performance management, training, coaching, and mentorship • Engage in leadership and DEIB professional development • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree • 7+ years of progressively responsible professional experience managing federal grants, including substantial post-award compliance responsibility • Demonstrated leadership experience in a relevant field, including strategic planning, outreach and engagement, staff development, and cross-functional work • Experience managing relationships with federal funders and overseeing budgeting, reporting, procurement, and post-award compliance for federally funded programs • Skilled in managing relationships with federal funders and internal teams • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in diverse stakeholder settings • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills • Strategic thinking, delegation, and decision-making skills • Basic understanding of accounting and use of financial data • Solution-focused approach to challenges and team leadership • Interest or experience in mental health, suicide prevention, or the nonprofit sector preferred • Master’s degree in healthcare, public health, policy, or a social science field preferred
