📋 Description

• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations • Maintain and improve month-end close processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations • Ensure compliance with GAAP • Identify and implement automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and accelerate month-end close • Respond to information requests and assist with the annual financial statement audit • Analyze financial statements and general ledger accounts for monthly, quarterly, and annual fluctuations and document findings • Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for assigned financial statement areas • Assist accounting leadership as needed • Take ownership of assigned financial statement areas, potentially including revenue, cost of goods sold, inventory, administrative fees, and others • Establish strong cross-functional working relationships

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance • 3–4 years of experience, preferably with a public accounting/private accounting mix • CPA preferred • Experience with complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations, or investments • Experience with automation, AI tools, or advanced technology solutions for accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, or close efficiency preferred • Ability to read and analyze financial statements and reports • Comfort with ambiguity and undefined processes • Public company exposure preferred, through audit or industry experience • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Highly organized and detail-oriented • Comfort working in a fully remote setting • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Must follow Virta’s security and privacy procedures when handling HIPAA-governed patient information
