📋 Description

• Process assigned medical-record Release of Information requests accurately, efficiently, and within required turnaround times • Safeguard patient privacy and ensure releases comply with authorizations, VRC and healthcare-facility policies, HIPAA, and applicable laws • Access requests and medical records using client-specific procedures and security protocols • Validate requests and patient authorizations, classify request types, and log requests in ROI software • Retrieve and upload requested medical-chart portions from electronic or physical repositories • Perform quality-control checks to ensure accurate releases and prevent PHI breaches • Check and adjust invoices as needed, create invoices and billing materials, and release valid requests to requesting entities • Reject invalid or non-HIPAA-compliant requests • Return physically pulled records to their proper locations • Document exceptions, communications, and relevant request information in ROI software • Escalate questionable requests, suspected breaches, delays, connectivity problems, equipment malfunctions, and security risks to supervisors • Respond to requestor inquiries respectfully and efficiently • Securely store records and files and maintain adequate office supplies • Assist with additional facilities or request types during backlogs • Keep client information details up to date • Complete required training and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred • Prior Release of Information fulfillment experience preferred • Attention to detail • Ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines • Documentation and communication skills • Ability to maintain productivity and quality performance • Basic knowledge of medical records and HIPAA preferred • Prior experience with EHR/EMR platforms preferred • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office products • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills • Experience operating printers, computers, fax machines, scanners, and microfilm reader/printers preferred • Detailed-oriented, self-motivated, and able to remain focused for extended periods • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English • Bilingual skills desirable
