📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse architecture (BigQuery). Own the infrastructure end-to-end and continuously evolve it as the business grows. • Define and implement data models and dbt transformations that are clean, well-tested, and built to last, with strong standards for CI/CD, code review, and documentation. • Ensure data quality and reliability across all systems through validation, monitoring, anomaly detection, and clear data contracts and lineage documentation. • Partner with Data Analytics, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver the clean, accessible data they need to make decisions. Translate complex technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders. • Lead projects from scoping to delivery, and raise the bar for the team's engineering practices.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering, ideally at a high-growth SaaS or consumer tech company, with a track record of owning production-grade pipelines and data warehouse solutions • Expertise in Python and SQL • Deep dbt experience on BigQuery (or similar) • Strong Git/CI/CD practices • Familiarity with GCP and orchestration tools like Airflow or Fivetran • Solid grasp of data warehousing fundamentals: dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT design, query optimization, and data quality frameworks • Strong understanding of building data models for AI (we use Claude) • Strong communicator who can lead projects, mentor teammates, and work cross-functionally without hand-holding • Autonomous and high-ownership; comfortable making calls under ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
