• Develop new business with electric utilities • Build partnerships with automakers, EV charging companies, battery providers, and other distributed energy companies • Own a focused portfolio of high-priority utility and partner opportunities • Identify and qualify opportunities • Build relationships with senior decision-makers and partner executives • Develop commercial and strategic value propositions • Negotiate agreements • Translate signed deals into successful launches and revenue • Advance utility accounts from initial engagement through scoping, proposal, negotiation, and contract signature • Lead consultative discovery into customer priorities, regulatory context, operational constraints, procurement pathways, budgets, and decision-making processes • Develop proposals, presentations, business cases, pricing strategies, bid defenses, and other materials • Navigate formal procurements, regulatory processes, and pilots • Source, qualify, and advance partnerships with automotive OEMs, EVSE manufacturers and network operators, battery and energy technology providers, aggregators, and other ecosystem participants • Identify shared-value opportunities through technology integration, joint go-to-market efforts, utility program delivery, customer acquisition, or new revenue streams • Develop partnership structures defining shared value, commercial terms, responsibilities, technical dependencies, and paths to market • Own priority partnerships after signature and support launches, customer enrollment and participation, partner-barrier resolution, expansion opportunities, and performance tracking • Drive internal alignment on priorities, decisions, responsibilities, timelines, risks, and next steps • Shape solutions and commercial approaches with Product, Client Success, Finance, Policy, and Delivery teams • Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Policy, Finance, Legal, RevOps, and executive leadership • Develop decision memos, executive presentations, account plans, and recommendations • Maintain accurate pipeline stages, forecasts, relationship maps, account plans, and CRM data • Translate customer, partner, and market insights into recommendations for product strategy, positioning, partnership priorities, and go-to-market planning • Report to the VP of Market Development & Partnerships
• 7–10 years of experience in enterprise business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, consultative sales, or a related field • Personally originated, structured, negotiated, and closed complex B2B opportunities • Ideally experienced with electric utilities, automotive companies, EV charging providers, energy technology companies, or similarly complex enterprises • Ability to translate market dynamics, customer needs, financial analysis, regulatory context, and technical considerations into a credible business case • Sound judgment in long and ambiguous deal cycles • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment while collaborating with colleagues • Experience with electric utilities, transportation electrification, distributed energy resources, or enterprise energy software preferred • Professional fluency in virtual power plants, DERMS, demand response, managed charging, vehicle-grid integration, energy storage, or grid planning preferred • Experience negotiating agreements with commercial and technical components preferred • Experience working with regulated customers or in markets shaped by public utility commissions and regulatory proceedings preferred • Existing relationships across the North American utility, automotive, EV charging, and distributed energy resource ecosystem preferred • Convenient access to a major airport • Comfortable traveling periodically for customer meetings, partner engagements, conferences, and internal gatherings
