📋 Description
• Provide personalized guidance to students on essays, research papers, dissertations, and other writing assignments • Offer asynchronous and synchronous feedback to develop students’ writing skills and self-sufficiency • Provide constructive, actionable feedback to improve clarity, structure, and academic rigor • Recommend resources tailored to individual student needs • Communicate regularly with Writing Center leadership to align with best practices and improve student outcomes • Deliver feedback promptly according to deadlines and service standards • Adjust availability to meet Writing Center needs on a part-time schedule • Contribute to Writing Center resources such as instructional guides, templates, and FAQs • Handle other projects and tasks as needed
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred • Strong proficiency in academic writing, including grammar, structure, APA formatting, and research methodologies • Exceptional communication skills for clear, concise, and constructive feedback • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple student submissions and deadlines • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment while maintaining attention to detail • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, including Track Changes • Proficiency with Google Workspace • Familiarity with online learning platforms • Expertise in APA 7th edition formatting and citation styles • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and ability to inspire confidence in students • Adaptability to tailor feedback and communication styles to individual student needs • Experience supporting students with ESL/EFL backgrounds • Knowledge of instructional best practices for academic writing • Familiarity with online tutoring tools and platforms such as Zoom • Proficiency with citation management tools such as EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley
