📋 Description

• Determine whether proper coverage exists for assigned claims. • Thoroughly investigate claims, including coverage, legal climate, potential exposure, and damages. • Make decisions on claim resolution and negotiate and settle claims. • Meet established goals and objectives; arrange salvage disposition and recovery proceedings. • Participate in claim file reviews and audits with customers and brokers. • Manage approved vendors and counsel, including investigation plans, budgets, payments, and compliance with guidelines. • Review and support proper claim reserves. • Identify and refer claims to management or complex claims specialists. • Formulate recommendations for claim file handling, subsequent transactions, and renewal processing. • Request additional information from agents and identify field referrals based on underwriting guidelines. • Maintain communication with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, insurers, vendors, and company personnel. • Complete reports and obtain documentation supporting claim evaluation. • Interpret contracts, legal documents, insurance regulations, and policies. • Maintain knowledge of coverage, law, legislation, trends, and industry best practices. • Adjust first-party homeowners and commercial property claims. • Use Xactimate to evaluate first-party property claims. • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, including driving an assigned fleet vehicle and possible extended storm-duty travel. • Mentor less experienced adjusters.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of Claims Handling experience. • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, or a related field and/or commensurate work experience. • Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. • Certified Professional Claims Management (CPCM) preferred.
