📋 Description

• Support and manage direct reports supporting WEX’s Mobility lines of business on complex commercial transactions and product development and launches in the Americas • Provide strategic and tactical legal advice to commercial, digital, and marketing teams • Collaborate with finance, operations, compliance, and other corporate functions, as well as outside counsel • Serve as senior legal advisor to WEX Mobility businesses across the Americas • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals • Advise Mobility executives and cross-functional leaders across Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance • Support Legal Leadership Team strategic initiatives • Engage, instruct, and oversee outside counsel • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including customer credit, card program, reseller, marketing, referral, and technology contracts • Drive legal due diligence and integration for M&A activities • Support high-stakes RFP responses and review marketing initiatives • Lead process improvements and maintain contract templates and negotiation playbooks • Provide legal guidance throughout product development, launch, and technical evolution • Draft and maintain product-related terms, including application and API terms, integration terms, and website terms of service • Identify, manage, and escalate business risks • Manage pre-litigation disputes and contractual queries from customers or partners

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. required • 10 years of legal experience, ideally with in-house experience • Licensed in at least one U.S. state • Experience in payments and/or financial services industries and related laws and regulations • Extensive experience structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, including financial services, digital payment, technology, and public-sector transactions • Understanding of legal and practical components of a product life cycle and experience providing legal advice throughout the cycle • Experience managing and supervising others • Experience with legal matter management systems, contract lifecycle management systems, and AI tools and capabilities • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills • Resourceful problem solving, detailed analysis, and issue resolution • Ability to understand complex commercial and product issues and business metrics • Organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills • Ability to work collaboratively and independently • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives • Proactive continuous improvement and learning mindset
