📋 Description

• Guide Wikipedia’s anti-abuse and security strategy as a member of the Product Analytics team • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, research scientists, security engineers, and other colleagues • Inform product development strategy and evaluate the impact of features and interventions • Set measurement strategy for detecting bots and inauthentic account activity • Analyze and develop heuristics and approaches to detect potentially abusive activity • Help develop and evaluate AI models to identify malicious user-authored code • Make recommendations on product direction and data strategy • Deliver quantitative data and insights to inform strategy and product decisions • Communicate results and data-backed recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders • Build and execute measurement strategies and evaluate experiments using Bayesian and Frequentist approaches • Perform quantitative research • Develop queries and code for large-scale internal and external data repositories using Apache Iceberg, Hive, Druid, Presto, and Spark • Build automated self-service dashboards using DBT, Airflow, and Superset • Help teams instrument features, perform data quality assurance, and use A/B testing tools • Prioritize workload and select appropriate analytical methods

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with experimental design and statistics or machine learning methods • Experience using AI coding assistants for data analysis and technical tasks • Fluency in R or Python • Fluency with version control and command-line-based tools • Fluency in SQL and working with large-scale data • Experience collaborating with product development teams in a fast-paced environment • Availability for critical meetings and synchronous collaboration between 13:00 and 19:00 UTC • Ability to explain data and insights clearly to non-specialist audiences • Curiosity and critical thinking skills • Empathy toward and commitment to Wikimedia volunteer communities • Discretion and competence in handling sensitive or confidential data • Commitment to Wikimedia’s mission, values, and guiding principles • Self-motivated ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity • Prior trust and safety, information security and privacy, fraud, or anti-abuse experience is desirable • Exposure to ethical data management and privacy practices is desirable • Wikimedia or open-source project experience is desirable • Experience with Superset, Growthbook, or other open-source testing, visualization, or reporting tools is desirable • For non-US employees: current work authorization in the location
