📋 Description

• Reduce complexity to create simple, delightful user experiences • Create prototypes and run experiments to iteratively test hypotheses • Use and evolve the design system and guidelines • Create new features from initial ideas through implementation • Apply accessibility standards and guidelines to designs • Collaborate with product managers and engineers on product plans and design processes • Distill complex concepts into understandable talking points for readers and communities • Work primarily with the Reader Growth team on learning and engagement software for new and casual Wikipedia readers • Contribute to a multidisciplinary product team focused on improving trust and safety • Feed directly into product strategy for the product team

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience contributing on design teams • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree, or equivalent in related work experience • Solid understanding of user experience and product development processes • Experience conducting research and collaborating with UX researchers • Ability to communicate design goals and processes clearly and concisely • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback • Ability to generate future ideas while delivering work tactically • Self-motivated and committed to evolving skills and sharing knowledge • Availability for design, product, and engineering meetings and synchronous collaboration from 14:00 to 18:00 UTC • Attendance at mandatory weekly design team meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays • Background in content consumption, publishing, education, or news is desirable • Experience as a researcher with in-person and remote participants is desirable • Familiarity with Free Knowledge and/or Open Source communities is desirable • Speaking more than one language is desirable • Current work authorization in the hiring location for non-US employees
