📋 Description
• Leverage your international networks and knowledge of educational research, with desk research skills, to drive high-quality submissions in key subject areas to the Education portfolio • Strategically develop one or more journals, from scientific and publishing perspectives within the context of the broader Education portfolio • Establish and maintain a strong global network of researchers and practitioners who are the journals’ authors, peer reviewers and board members • Represent Wiley and the Education portfolio at conferences and through in-person and virtual outreach activities at universities and research institutes • Oversee the editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision making for submitted manuscripts • Collaborate closely with external and internal editorial colleagues • Work with your manager and colleagues to establish a team culture of trust, respect and high performance
🎯 Requirements
• A PhD degree in educational research • Manuscript handling experience (including pre-screening, peer review, final decision, appeals and integrity cases) • Demonstrated commissioning experience including identifying priority topics, approaching prospective authors, agreeing outlines/timelines, and guiding authors through to submission • Strong global networks within research communities • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders • Ability to work in a collaborative setting and achieve results through personal influence and engagement • Flexible and innovative approach to problems and a focus on defining and achieving outcomes • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with an excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal) • A strong understanding of scientific publishing, and desire to advocate for innovations in publishing and open research • Confidence to present and represent the Education portfolio at international conferences/ institute visits
