• Review occupational health records, medical surveillance exams, laboratory results, health questionnaires, and medication reviews to determine employee work clearance • Maintain accurate records of reviews and actions • Escalate cases to WorkCare Physicians and collaborate with clients regarding documentation and testing requirements • Provide guidance to employees and respond to client and employee inquiries • Facilitate case management and safe return-to-work and maximum-functionality outcomes • Coordinate communication among employees, employers, providers, adjusters, TPAs, and other stakeholders • Maintain case updates through phone calls, email, and written reports • Coordinate return-to-work, drug testing, fitness-for-duty, and other required examinations • Monitor employee care, medical visits, therapy sessions, light-duty assignments, and return-to-work progress • Interpret medical documentation for accommodations, restrictions, FMLA requests, and return-to-work readiness • Obtain releases of information and medical records when required • Process leave-of-absence requests and track leave time in collaboration with the Benefits Team • Facilitate return-to-work, fitness-for-duty, FMLA, transitional-duty, reasonable-accommodation, and ergonomic-risk-reduction programs • Interpret OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, FMLA, employer, medical, and disability-benefit guidelines • Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor
• Associate’s degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred • Active RN or LPN license required • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience • RN or LPN nursing experience required • Occupational health nursing experience preferred • Occupational Health certification is a plus • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to create and edit written materials • Ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities • Cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and clients • Strong time-management, organizational, and follow-through skills • Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly performance goals • Ability to work independently and assist team members • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality • Competence in Windows, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and ability to learn other software • Ability to sit for long periods and work at a desk • Ability to work under stress and use a computer and phone • Manual dexterity for computer keyboard use • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move up to 15 pounds • Home setup must meet company IT, privacy, and safety requirements
