📋 Description

• Translate organizational strategy into clear priorities, plans, and measurable outcomes • Manage principals toward organizational and departmental goals and hold senior leadership accountable • Lead major cross-entity projects from planning through implementation • Identify barriers, facilitate decisions, and ensure commitments become action • Strengthen coordination across teams and improve organizational effectiveness systems and processes • Support the EpicWorks Advisory Board and Executive Director with quarterly meeting planning and facilitation • Oversee organizational risk mitigation strategy and crisis response protocols • Monitor risk and lead process documentation and document retention efforts • Support business continuity planning with the CFO, Executive Director, and Controller • Align financial strategy with organizational priorities and sustainable growth • Partner with the Executive Director and department heads as a Senior Leadership Team member • Manage and develop staff through expectations, coaching, feedback, professional development, and accountability • Support performance management, goal-setting, and organizational planning • Lead internal staff learning and communication efforts • Develop and oversee staff onboarding • Oversee labor and management relations • Advise participating-organization executives on labor relations, collective bargaining, organizational change, workforce impacts, partnerships, and conflict • Develop management and labor-relations training, coaching, tools, and shared resources • Advise leaders on management and labor-relations challenges, trends, risks, and opportunities • Build shared-learning opportunities and disseminate effective management practices • Coordinate Finance, People & Culture, Legal, Technology, Operations, and participating-organization contacts • Sponsor organization-wide, multifunctional initiatives • Provide strategic oversight to assigned programs and initiatives • Establish program-effectiveness measures and present progress against goals • Monitor budgets, performance, and sustainability with Finance and program staff • Build relationships with participating organizations and partners and use feedback to identify improvements • Represent EpicWorks with participating organizations, unions, partners, funders, and stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. • Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas • At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit management, political campaigns, or organizational operations with increasing responsibility • At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably managing multi-functional teams and projects • Experience strengthening organizational project management capacity, including introducing tools and practices, coaching staff, and building complex-project skills • Strong people-management experience, including coaching and developing staff, managing managers, setting expectations, and supporting accountability and performance • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills • Ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and sensitive organizational issues • Data analysis skills sufficient to identify trends and drive data-informed decisions • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships across teams and with organizational leaders, partners, and stakeholders • Experience working within a collective bargaining environment and partnering with union leadership • Experience with complex, multi-entity nonprofit structures, such as organizations including 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC entities • Demonstrated commitment to racial, economic, and gender justice and building equitable, values-aligned organizations
