📋 Description

• Develop and implement statewide political, organizational, governing, and co-governance strategies for California Working Families Party • Serve as primary staff lead for the California State Steering Committee, including agenda development, meeting facilitation, follow-up, implementation tracking, and leadership development • Manage assigned regional steering committees and support CA WFP Officers • Align statewide priorities with Regional Committee strategies, programs, and decision-making • Build systems improving communication, coordination, accountability, and collaboration among regional and statewide leadership bodies • Manage annual dues collections from coalition members • Lead statewide governance and co-governance convenings and support regional gatherings • Build relationships with elected officials, candidates, labor leaders, movement organizations, coalition partners, member leaders, and donors • Coordinate engagement opportunities and monthly statewide elected officials calls • Coordinate issue-based co-governance campaigns and regional co-governance tables • Supervise assigned staff and support cross-department coordination • Participate in organizational planning, staff development, and strategic decision-making • Represent California WFP in coalition spaces and strategic political discussions • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the State Director

🎯 Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience as an advisor, strategist, or senior leader within political, labor, advocacy, or democratic organizations • Proven ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders and translate strategy into action • Deep experience managing coalitions, steering committees, boards, elected leaders, or other governing bodies • Strong understanding of relationship building, consensus development, and organizational decision-making • Proven staff management experience, including setting expectations, developing talent, and performance management • Experience working with elected officials, candidates, labor unions, and community organizations on shared governing, policy, or political priorities • Knowledge of California's political and movement ecosystem preferred • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to facilitate complex conversations, navigate competing interests, and translate political and organizational priorities into clear guidance, decisions, and execution systems • Must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States • Employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
