• Lead World Relief’s finance compliance function and risk management activities • Maintain a compliance calendar and coordinate mitigation plans for financial, operational, and regulatory risks • Develop and maintain a risk-based audit philosophy and annual audit plan • Supervise internal audit staff • Plan, conduct, and oversee financial, operational, and compliance audits and investigations across Home Office, domestic, and international offices • Issue audit and investigation reports with findings, recommendations, management responses, and follow-up expectations • Provide structured post-audit and post-investigation corrective-action support to offices • Lead development, review, revision, and retirement of finance policies and procedures • Partner with system owners to align policies, procedures, workflows, documentation, and systems of record • Develop and deliver finance compliance, internal control, audit readiness, and policy/procedure training • Provide guidance on financial operations, grant activity, documentation standards, and corrective-action implementation • Oversee Finance SharePoint governance and documentation accuracy • Support grant fund, project, and FQA setup processes in Cyrus • Recommend process and system improvements • Support the annual external audit and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
• Mature and personal Christian faith • Commitment to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities • Ability to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief’s Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Association of Evangelicals’ For the Health of The Nation document • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business • 2–5 years of accounting experience • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles • Working experience with automated accounting systems and financial report writing systems • High level of office software skills, particularly Excel • Database experience is helpful • Strong knowledge of accounting, accounting cycle management, financial statements and analysis, and the financial audit process • General knowledge of nonprofit and fund accounting principles is helpful • Knowledge of federal grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and audit standards (GAAS, GAGAS) • Ability to supervise, coach, and develop internal audit staff and manage cross-functional audit or compliance projects • Ability to work with a multidimensional accounting system, such as a fund accounting system • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and numerous deadlines • Ability to work diplomatically with managers and staff without an accounting background • Good oral and written communication skills • Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and change-management skills
