⢠Serve as liaison between University stakeholders and companies, foundations, non-profit entities, and government agencies ⢠Draft and negotiate industry-sponsored research agreements and other research agreements, including federal contracts, non-profit agreements, subagreements, and clinical trial agreements ⢠Manage contract portfolios for departments and schools from negotiation through closeout ⢠Review and negotiate clinical research, laboratory, data use, confidentiality, collaboration, foundation, federal, sponsored research, service, and subaward agreements ⢠Advise faculty and staff on contractual relationship and negotiation issues ⢠Review intellectual property, publication, communication, financial, and indemnification terms ⢠Identify unusual circumstances, provide alternative language, and explain university-preferred terms ⢠Evaluate transaction and agreement risks and maintain standard operating procedures for contract service delivery ⢠Monitor regulatory, policy, and court-decision changes affecting contract negotiations ⢠Interpret and disseminate contract-related policies, regulations, and guidelines ⢠Assist with training new contract specialists and developing JROC negotiation resources and guidance documents ⢠Maintain electronic records and ensure contract tracking data integrity ⢠Provide strategic data and reports to senior administration ⢠Perform other duties as assigned
⢠Juris Doctor or PhD; combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education ⢠7 years of relevant experience ⢠Preferred: 2 years of research administration or contract negotiation experience ⢠Knowledge of agency law, contract agreements, contract law, contract modifications, contract negotiations, FDA compliance, insurance, licensing agreements, patent licensing, research compliance, and paralegal education ⢠Ability to prioritize, self-organize, exercise sound judgment, work independently, and write effectively ⢠No specific certification/professional license required ⢠Driver's license not required ⢠Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and other checks as applicable
