📋 Description

• Answer calls from the hospital’s main telephone line and direct them to the appropriate area • Perform paging services, including paging physicians and rolling pagers • Make same-day changes to the On Call schedule as backup to department schedulers • Answer the attendant console within three rings while identifying the hospital and attendant services • Analyze and respond to calls quickly and clearly • Route callers to appropriate personnel with minimal valid complaints • Recognize true emergency calls and follow emergency procedures • Interpret callers’ needs and quickly route them to the appropriate person or area • Assist callers and visitors who speak little English • Handle irritated, concerned, abusive, or frantic callers and visitors professionally • Respond immediately to emergency, fire/security, and STAT pages and calls according to hospital policies • Assist medical faculty and staff according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent • One (1) year customer service experience, or console attendant experience (preferred qualification) • Experience in a medical office setting (preferred qualification) • Ability to sit for long periods of time (6-8 hours) • Requires working under stressful conditions • Non-exempt position in the United States of America
