📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans • Provide evidence-based medication management, including assessment of treatment response, adherence, side effects, medication interactions, and appropriate monitoring • Engage patients in shared decision-making through education about treatment options, expected benefits, and potential risks • Assess suicide risk and other safety concerns; develop safety plans and coordinate escalation or referral when needed • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to patients with PTSD, anxiety, depressive disorders, and complex psychosocial needs • Complete timely, accurate documentation supporting clinical decision-making, medical necessity, and continuity of care • Review treatment goals and update care plans as patients’ needs change • Collaborate with therapists, primary care clinicians, and other team members to support coordinated care • Communicate reliably about patient concerns, follow-up needs, referrals, and transitions of care • Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and quality improvement activities • Optionally provide structured, evidence-based individual psychotherapy within training and competence, with treatment goals, progress assessment, and appropriate documentation

🎯 Requirements

• MSN or DNP with preparation as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner • Current national board certification as a PMHNP • Active Maryland PMHNP authorization • Current Maryland RN license or valid multistate RN privilege covering Maryland • All required credentials must be active before patient care begins • At least three years of clinical practice as a PMHNP, including substantial outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management experience • Strong working knowledge of psychopharmacology, differential diagnosis, trauma-informed care, and psychiatric risk assessment • Applicable prescribing credentials and registrations required for assigned duties • Excellent interpersonal skills, sound independent judgment, and clear verbal and written communication • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and timely completion of clinical documentation • Comfort using electronic health records and telehealth platforms • Current CPR/BLS certification • Access to a private, secure workspace and reliable internet connection • Compassionate, respectful approach to diverse patients and commitment to serving people facing barriers to care • Preferred: experience caring for veterans, trauma survivors, and underserved or vulnerable populations • Preferred: experience treating co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders • Preferred: training in evidence-based psychotherapy, such as CBT, motivational interviewing, or trauma-focused approaches • Preferred: experience with eClinicalWorks, AthenaOne, or comparable EHR systems • Preferred: experience collaborating within an integrated, multidisciplinary practice
