📋 Description

• Design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment throughout the U.S. and Canadian networks • Work with Project Managers to effectively deliver service requirements to customers • Design DWDM networks according to Network Architectures standards and future network and customer-base growth • Implement DWDM wave circuit designs for the core network as needed • Create Engineering Design Packages discernible by Operations personnel • Provide timely updates to project managers and leadership regarding service deliverables and due dates • Review capacity requests for correctness and clarify design-related items with responsible departments • Maintain customer commitments and deadlines in the Zayo database • Support field operations in resolving provisioning problems and review technical data to project issues • Open, forecast, and maintain budgets based on service commitments • Secure optical vendor quotes, order equipment, move equipment from inventory to the field, and write installation scopes of work • Manage workload, prioritize critical issues, and overcome order-flow obstacles to meet required due dates • Participate in operations-related projects and support managers during customer or network escalations • Stay abreast of technology and network solutions and cross-train when needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training and/or experience • Minimum of three (3) years telecommunications and/or data networking experience • Ability to meet inflexible deadlines, perform non-predictive multiple tasks, and resolve customer conflicts successfully • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Working knowledge of optical systems and signal-flow designs through fixed or flex-grid networks using ROADM technology • Experience using Microsoft Office or Google programs and project management software • Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Familiarity with most of the following products and systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, Nokia, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Sitetracker equivalents, telecom inventory systems, and Metasolv • Familiarity with Visio, Excel, or Google equivalents • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or any other work visa, now or in the future
