📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of cloud software engineers through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and growth opportunities • Empower engineers to lead initiatives, recognize contributions, and foster accountability • Create an inclusive, psychologically safe environment supporting collaboration, learning, innovation, and respectful challenge • Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and knowledge-sharing activities • Learn and improve existing Go-based healthcare platforms • Design and implement Go services and components for cloud-based platforms • Develop high-volume, low-latency services for a global healthcare platform • Develop and integrate APIs enabling users to share and use medical data in partner systems • Collaborate with Information Security to design and implement secure solutions • Ensure platform performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime • Contribute to architectural and operational decisions with Architecture and Platform leadership • Identify capacity constraints, risks, dependencies, and execution challenges; communicate progress and tradeoffs • Align priorities with technical product owners and business stakeholders • Balance delivery goals with platform sustainability, quality, security, observability, operability, performance, and technical debt reduction • Evaluate experimentation and innovation based on customer needs, technical evidence, risk, and expected value • Build relationships across Product, Security, Quality, Regulatory, and other teams • Lead technical planning, design reviews, and engineering best practices • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends and make recommendations • Support company initiatives and comply with FDA and applicable global regulatory requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, another relevant field, or equivalent experience • Minimum 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of related experience • Experience supporting engineers across multiple product teams, programs, or matrixed structures • Software engineering experience with cloud-based or distributed systems • Technical fluency to participate in architecture, risk, and delivery discussions • Experience coaching engineers in problem-solving, judgment, and professional growth • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs • Experience contributing to scalable, highly available, maintainable, and monitorable architectures • Experience translating business and product goals into engineering priorities, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes • Ability to balance delivery speed with reliability, security, quality, maintainability, and long-term platform health • Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team • Strong written, verbal, and listening skills • Strong Computer Science fundamentals and software development experience • Preferred: experience leading production Go or modern cloud-native language teams • Preferred: experience with public-cloud platforms and managed database, messaging, event-streaming, API, and service technologies • Preferred: experience treating an internal platform as a product • Preferred: experience with agile product development, automated testing, continuous delivery, observability, and secure development • Preferred: experience in digital health, medical devices, or regulated industries • Preferred: experience developing software subject to FDA or comparable regulatory requirements
