• Manage and lead business development in key customer accounts • Build and develop long-term customer relationships across glaucoma and dry eye disease portfolios • Cultivate relationships with existing customers and expand awareness and use of AbbVie Vision Care products • Manage sales at customer and hospital level in accordance with approved marketing plans and company policies • Attain or exceed sales targets for the assigned territory • Act as the customer expert and manager of AbbVie commercial relationships with External Experts • Maintain a macro view of customer relationships and work cross-functionally to maximize sales results • Ensure internal team members understand and execute customer strategy and sales expectations • Identify opportunities to co-develop solutions within Key Accounts • Identify and mitigate challenges to effective customer interactions • Advocate for customer issues, concerns, and priorities within AbbVie • Build engagements within Key Account organizations and understand their priorities, structure, and business environment • Develop trusting relationships with Key Accounts and grow market share in Glaucoma and Dry Eye Disease • Develop account-specific strategies and comprehensive strategic business plans • Collaborate with the AbbVie Medical team and AbbVie Institute’s Clinical Specialist • Conduct regular internal and external sales reviews • Execute national marketing programs with cross-functional teams • Identify collaboration, growth, and new Key Account opportunities • Manage territory budget and resource allocation
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science or equivalent, or MBA combination of experience and education required • A minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or marketing/or head office operational experience • Key Account Management experience valued • Experience in Pharmaceutical/Medical Sales is required • A thorough understanding of the institutional/Key Account healthcare sector preferred • Demonstrated track record of achieving and/or exceeding business results • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Strong business acumen and self-starter • Demonstrates leadership capabilities, listening and adaptability skills • Strong presentation and communication skills • Proven ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally within the company • Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders both with customers and internally • Candidate must be fluent in English, both verbal and written • Highly collaborative with a customer-centric mindset • Able to travel up to 50% of the time • Position requires evening/weekend work, including overnight travel • Valid driver’s license and passport • Role will be based in Edmonton or Calgary
