📋 Description

• Set the team’s technical strategy on a year-long timescale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes • Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call support • Establish code review and design standards and advocate for quality through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Lead the design of the next generation of Affirm’s checkout experience • Improve checkout speed, clarity, and reliability

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript • Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through technical and execution plans • Ability to write high-quality, understandable code • Ability to work from low-level language idioms through large-system architecture • Demonstrated growth and impact through gathering and iterating on peer feedback • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan
