📋 Description

• Translate R&D strategy into learning experiences, role readiness, and development opportunities • Partner with R&D leaders and functional learning partners to define priority capabilities • Lead instructional designers and establish content creation standards and content management strategy • Use learning analytics to identify capability gaps and guide investment • Identify current and emerging capability needs tied to scientific priorities, operating plans, and workforce plans • Maintain and review a rolling capability roadmap • Design role-based learning journeys, curricula, academies, and end-to-end learning experiences • Develop R&D capability architecture, frameworks, proficiency expectations, and manager resources • Oversee training governance, management, assignment processes, and performance readiness • Design advanced capability programs including internships, rotations, mentorship, and focused development opportunities • Create dashboards and reports showing participation, capability progress, gaps, and trends • Define learning content standards, taxonomy, ownership, version control, discoverability, review cadence, archiving, and retirement • Design a learning operating model with governance, decision rights, service expectations, and ownership • Partner with R&D functions to tailor enterprise capability builds to local needs • Present capability and learning analytics to R&D leaders and connect results to prioritization and investment decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in learning and development or a related field • Strong expertise in adult learning, instructional design, performance consulting, and digital learning ecosystems • Experience designing and scaling enterprise or function-wide capability strategies • Significant experience inside pharma/biotech R&D preferred • Experience designing, owning, or scaling a capability framework across multiple functions preferred • Experience leading instructional designers or learning design teams preferred • Experience designing role-based learning journeys, curricula, academies, or development programs preferred • Experience establishing learning content standards, governance, or a content management strategy preferred • Experience using learning analytics and evaluation to guide decisions and communicate learning impact preferred • Executive-level stakeholder management and comfort presenting learning strategy and findings to senior R&D leaders preferred • Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
