It combines hardware sensors (continuous and route-based vibration monitoring, electrical monitoring, oil analysis and connected devices) with SaaS software capabilities — including AI plus human expert review and integrations — to give enterprise operators one view of equipment health. AssetWatch targets industrial/manufacturing customers (chemicals, food & beverage, forestry/building materials, metals, mining, pharmaceuticals, plastics, pulp & paper, water/wastewater) and monitors assets such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, blowers and compressors to reduce downtime and enable predictive maintenance.

📋 Description

• Own and scale the company's full accounting function during a period of rapid growth • Champion continuous improvement and innovation across accounting processes and technologies • Ensure accurate and timely GAAP and international financial reporting and manage the annual financial audit • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and audit readiness • Own revenue recognition policies in compliance with ASC 606 for SaaS/HaaS contracts • Oversee accounting operations, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and eliminations across multiple legal entities • Partner strategically with the CFO and executive team to translate financial data into business insights • Oversee financial strategies supporting growth, profitability, and capital efficiency across domestic and international markets • Drive financial decision-making, scenario planning, board-level reporting, and investor relations support • Lead asset and inventory control initiatives • Manage international accounting, multi-currency operations, foreign exchange policies, currency exposure, and consolidated FX reporting • Oversee cross-border intercompany pricing and transfer pricing documentation • Ensure statutory filings, local GAAP compliance, and regulatory reporting across jurisdictions • Develop balance sheet optimization and cash flow forecasting strategies • Monitor payables and receivables cycles and manage working capital • Oversee cash positioning, hedging strategies, and banking relationships across geographies • Lead selection, implementation, and integration of accounting systems and ERP solutions • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT on financial systems integration • Oversee US federal, state, and local tax planning and compliance • Manage Canadian and international tax compliance, VAT/GST obligations, and transfer pricing documentation • Identify global tax optimization opportunities • Develop financial and operational risk management strategies, including foreign currency, geopolitical, and regulatory risks • Implement fraud detection and prevention controls and conduct fraud risk assessments • Contribute to strategic planning and integrated financial plans • Drive financial integration and compliance workstreams for domestic and international entities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA required • 12+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with significant tenure in technology, software, SaaS, and/or HaaS companies • Demonstrated track record of leading accounting functions in high-growth, venture- or PE-backed environments • Deep expertise in revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) in a subscription or usage-based business model • Proven experience managing multi-entity consolidations and multi-currency accounting operations • Working knowledge of international tax compliance, transfer pricing principles, and VAT/GST obligations in at least one non-US jurisdiction • Proven experience selecting, implementing, and integrating ERP and accounting systems at scale, with preference for systems supporting multi-entity, multi-currency environments • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing accounting teams across geographies • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills – able to distill complex financial information for executive, board, and cross-functional audiences • Experience at a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm • Prior experience as Controller or VP of Accounting in a SaaS company that has scaled through a Series B financing and/or beyond • Familiarity with hardware-as-a-service or IoT business models • Experience supporting board reporting and investor relations alongside a CFO • Experience managing or establishing international subsidiaries, including Canadian operations • Exposure to IFRS and the ability to navigate differences between US GAAP and local accounting standards in international markets
