📋 Description

• Own the technical direction and architecture for Bankjoy's Online Account Opening and Online Loan Application products • Lead solution design and quarterly planning • Ensure systems meet KYC/AML, identity verification, regulatory, and data privacy standards • Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews • Architect integrations with core banking systems and third-party vendors • Break initiatives into milestones and deliverables while managing scope, dependencies, risks, and technical debt • Monitor delivery progress and communicate risks and blockers • Contribute directly to coding, testing, debugging, and development • Build backend services using C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server • Develop frontend components using TypeScript and Angular • Build and maintain integrations with core banking and third-party APIs • Lead and mentor engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and coaching • Hire and onboard engineering talent • Partner with Product on roadmap, feature scope, and technical estimates • Work with Implementation and Client Success on client go-live needs • Collaborate with QA on testing standards, quality gates, UAT readiness, and release criteria • Oversee unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipeline quality • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production incidents with RCA and retrospectives

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience • At least 2 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role • Domain experience in digital account opening, loan origination, financial onboarding, or banking technology; candidates without this background will not be considered • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server • Strong proficiency in Angular and TypeScript • Proven experience building and integrating with core banking systems or third-party financial APIs • Experience architecting scalable, secure, and compliant systems in a regulated financial environment • Experience leading engineering teams, setting technical direction, coaching engineers, and driving delivery • Strong understanding of KYC/AML compliance, identity verification, and data privacy requirements • Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines • Must be available to work Eastern Time Zone hours • Comfortable operating in a high-growth startup environment • Must be authorized to work in Canada • Must work remotely from the country in which hired
