📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for small- to mid-sized business clients • Lead financial review calls and advise on complex accounting matters • Identify financial risks, opportunities, and compliance considerations supporting client growth • Monitor client engagement health and identify opportunities for additional support or services • Partner cross-functionally to meet client needs • Collaborate with Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, Bookkeepers, and CFOs on accurate and timely deliverables • Provide accounting guidance and subject matter expertise on complex financial matters • Support workflow coordination and prioritization with leadership • Share knowledge, best practices, and process improvements • Identify and implement efficiency and compliance improvements • Contribute to training resources, process documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives • Participate in strategic internal initiatives • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to improve client service delivery • Professionally represent BELAY in virtual and in-person interactions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business • 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience • Strong Controller-level expertise explaining financial statements, interpreting KPIs, and understanding forecasts and budgets • Expertise in financial close processes and best practices • Proficiency with accounting and business platforms, including QuickBooks Online, Fathom, Shopify, Cin7, and Amazon • Experience advising small businesses in inventory-based retail/e-commerce, creative/project-based companies, or technology startups • Familiarity with accounting and tax methodology and small business economic trends • Demonstrated ability to manage utilization, staffing, and profitability • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to inspire high-performing teams • Track record of exceptional client service and strategic guidance to small businesses and startups • Motivated, trustworthy, flexible, creative, well-organized self-starter • Strong communication and technological skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Dedicated, distraction-free home office • Availability during standard Monday–Friday business hours • Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone area • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
