📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and develop the Corporate Accounting Team. • Conduct one-on-one meetings, performance coaching, and professional development conversations. • Plan, prioritize, and delegate work assignments while providing technical guidance. • Establish and monitor departmental goals, key metrics, and performance expectations. • Recommend process improvements, technology enhancements, and operational efficiencies. • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Partner with the Director of Finance on strategic initiatives and departmental planning. • Oversee the general ledger and accurate recording of financial transactions. • Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations and review monthly account reconciliations. • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. • Monitor cash, receivables, payables, accrued liabilities, and fixed assets. • Prepare monthly financial statements for leadership and shareholder reporting. • Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analyses. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and BELAY accounting policies. • Oversee annual external audits and coordinate audit documentation. • Maintain accounting systems, financial data, and system integrations. • Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes. • Monitor daily cash position and organizational liquidity. • Partner with FP&A on forecasting, planning, and financial analysis. • Provide accounting guidance to operational leaders. • Partner with system administrators on system enhancements and accounting workflows.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior leadership responsibilities. • Experience managing general ledger accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes. • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Experience leading accounting operations and improving financial processes. • Demonstrated leadership experience coaching, developing, and managing a high-performing team. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential financial information. • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. • CPA designation preferred. • Experience leading external audits preferred. • Experience with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems preferred. • Experience working in a remote or distributed organization preferred. • Experience supporting budgeting and financial planning processes preferred. • Ability to maintain a dedicated home office. • Ability to align work schedule with BELAY's core collaboration hours. • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. • Frequent participation in virtual meetings. • Ability to communicate effectively through video conferencing, email, and phone. • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Candidates must reside in an Eastern or Central timezone. • BELAY cannot currently hire employees residing in California, New York, Illinois, or Oregon.
