• Responsible for business development efforts and brand strategy within a specified territory • Evaluate production patterns in new and renewal business to uncover refinements supporting profitable growth • Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Underwriting management, and corporate resources to develop opportunities by industry, class code, or segment • Monitor and evaluate agency performance • Track competitive intelligence and help prevent production barriers • Develop opportunities to improve ease of doing business with BHHC and improve overall customer experience • Create and execute territory plans with effective travel plans • Position BHHC as the market of choice with agents and target markets • Search for new agency appointments, prospect meetings, book-transfer opportunities, and additional agency production sources • Monitor agency growth and profitability and develop profit improvement and growth plans • Manage agency partnerships, appointments, terminations, renewal strategy discussions, and agency relationships • Conduct in-person agency visits and participate in prospect meetings, claims reviews, meet-and-greets, and stewardship meetings • Coordinate strategic co-travel with Underwriting, Client Services, and Loss Control teams when appropriate • Educate agents on BHHC’s value proposition, target markets, acquisition opportunities, territory goals, and service model • Participate in weekly underwriting meetings and support efforts to win large accounts and develop new opportunities • Gather, analyze, and evaluate competitor information and territory opportunities • Develop action plans using competitor intelligence and contribute data to Agency Marketing Reviews • Work with Marketing, Underwriting, and IT to improve templates, systems, and product offerings • Maintain accurate Producer Profiles, Business Plans, Agency Files, Bravo contacts, President’s Circle information, and required reports • Serve on internal and external insurance committees, participate in approved charity events, and attend insurance conferences • Assist with special assignments and projects as needed
• Previous insurance experience is required • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in the workers compensation insurance industry for Mid-Level, or minimum of seven (7) years for Senior-Level, is required, preferably in a Marketing or Underwriting role • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Able to effectively present information to management and public groups • Able to develop, implement and communicate company programs, new business requirements, and agency action plans • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite • Able to quickly master proprietary and vended software applications • Service oriented • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills • Able to promote and maintain strong, collaborative relationships • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and can support and explain reasoning for decisions effectively • Able to plan and prioritize work activities, using time efficiently • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
